Poster advertising a concert by DJ Yoda

Poster advertising a gig by turntable wizard DJ Yoda. The brief was to produce a circus themed poster advertising his concert at The Forum in London. This was a fun project to work on, and I had a very happy client once they saw the results.

Postcard
and banner designs for the CLA

While freelancing at Sherry Design,
The Copyright Licensing Agency approached us with a requirement for
postcards and banner designs for a schools conference highlighting the benefits
of their Schools Licence. We came up with the concept of copyright superheroes
that were “liberating libraries” and “transforming teaching”.

Animat "Earplay" CD Artwork

Big Chill Recordings artist “Animat” asked
me to design artwork for their latest album “Earplay”. Taking
the album title as a starting point I came up with a design based on a
stylised pair of ears performing to an “audience” of ears.

Visionaries
Logo, Promotional Material and Workshop

Visionaries was an event held a
the BFI in London showcasing young peoples films from around the UK,
as well as providing workshops on topics associated in all aspects
on film production.
I was involved setting up a workshop prior to
the event where I took a small group of young people through the process
of designing a logo - the result of which was used as the identity
for the event. I also designed all promotional materials, and ran
another design workshop at the event itself.

Readers WAVS CD Artwork

“Readers Wavs” is a compilation
cd of music produced by regulars on the Big Chill forum. My idea for the
artwork was to show the variety of methods people were using to create the
music, and the broad range of nationalities involved in the project.

Tinariwen
and Gonjasufi Posters

Posters advertising gigs by Saharan
band "Tinariwen" and Warp Records artist "Gonjasufi".
The initial brief for Tinariwen was to use a tribal mask as the main image,
but due to concerns over getting the right mask for the region they come
from I ended up producing a portrait of the band, backed by a setting Saharan
sun. The bands name was put at an angle so to allow it to be set at a larger
size than would be possible horizontally.
For my second Gonjasufi poster I went for a wood
cut effect. The original
illustration was produced in illustrator, then taken into photoshop where
the wood textures were pasted into the individual shapes that
make up the
illustration.
The same treatment was
also given to the text.
